Indian Plate

The Indian Plate is the tectonic plate that is specifically in India. The Indian Plate is surrounded by in close proximity to four other major plates including the Eurasian plate, the African plate, the Australian plate and the Arabian plate. Because of the location of this plate, the type of hazard that it creates the most is earthquakes. While the earthquakes are usually very low grade, there have been some catastrophic ones that have occurred.
